Yet, across Africa, many children remain out of school or learn in environments that lack adequate classrooms, desks, books, learning materials, and essential facilities. Poverty, disability, distance, and limited educational opportunities continue to keep many children from accessing quality education.
The Schools Project, an initiative of Home Network of Africa, exists to bridge this gap by creating educational opportunities, strengthening existing schools, and helping children access the education they deserve.
We believe education should not be determined by where a child is born, the family they come from, or the challenges they face. Our commitment is to reach children in underserved communities, support struggling schools, and help create safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Through school construction, school improvement, educational resources, learner support, and community partnerships, we work to remove barriers to education and open doors to brighter futures.

Ten ways we're closing the education gap

Build New Schools
Construct schools in underserved communities where children lack access to nearby learning institutions, bringing education closer to those who need it most.

Improve Existing Schools
Renovate and upgrade existing schools by improving classrooms, libraries, sanitation facilities, furniture, playgrounds, and other essential infrastructure.

Provide Educational Resources
Equip schools and learners with textbooks, exercise books, stationery, desks, teaching aids, digital learning tools, and other essential educational materials.

Connect Children to Schools
Identify children who are out of school and help connect them to appropriate learning institutions, overcoming barriers such as poverty, distance, and disability.
